Total Gym 1500 reviews .We found hundreds of pages of Total Gym 1500 reviews but they were mostly promotional, not really unbiased.

If you have been reading the same Total Gym 1500 reviews we did you will have discovered that after reading half a dozen or less you have read all of them. But if you want to know the good and the bad about the Total Gym 1500 read on.

We always give both sides of the story for every gym we review. The Total Gym 1500 is the second cheapest gym in the popular Total Gym series (Total Gym 1000 is the cheapest).

Like all of the Total Gym series of home gyms it uses body weight as resistance and can be folded away.

The amount of resistance is increased by increasing the angle of the glide board (bench). You can lift 6% to 50% of you body weight by choosing one of the 6 different resistance levels available.

The gym user cannot be taller than 6' or heavier than 250lbs so I'm guessing this gym is not very popular with the NBA. Especially since we found that at 5'10" you're getting a bit tall for some of the lying exercises.

The Total Gym 1500, like the 1000 and the 2000 models uses a lightweight steel frame. It is this and a few other features that set the lower end of the Total Gym series apart from the much more expensive upper end.

But we here at Home Gym Review feel the upper end models are overpriced for what you get in comparison. Check out our reviews on some of the other Total Gym models.

Equipment

  • lightweight steel frame
     13"(width) x 40"(length) glide board
     steel cables with handles
     leg cuffs

  • manual
  • (not much to it is there!)

    Size

    Unfolded (ready to use) - 20"(width) x 7'6"(length) x 4'(height)

    It weighs about 85lbs.

    Warranty

1 year on parts and frame

    Pros

  • you can perform a lot of different exercises in a short time
  • you can train your whole body
  • cheap
  • quiet
  • small
  • no assembly, it arrives ready to use
  • Cons

  • can't add extra weight so its a bit easy if you are strong
  • frame and board could be longer but OK if you are less than 6'
  • no head support for lying exercises
  • no squat stand
  • for all of the body weight as resistance type gyms we say 2 things:
    • you may find the feel of the exercises a little strange. This is definitely the case if you are expecting it to be like a regular gym because the angles are different.
    • And sometimes the cables feel like they are getting in the way

    Overall

The Total Gym 1500 is a great gym if you want a quick, cheap, no fuss workout. There are better gyms in the Total Gym series but of course they are more expensive. The Total Gym 1500 has plenty to offer and for the price (even if you only use it for a year before upgrading) it is cheaper and more convenient than a gym membership. But avoid this gym if you are tall (over about 5'11"), strong (or plans of becoming strong) or can afford something more expensive.
